Blog Update Progress ...

Blog Update!!!
The Mobile Version of this website should be running :) !!!!!
(I did this by using Blogger Draft and have only tested using iTouch/iPhone, please comment if it works on your mobile device.)

Other Stuff
As you may know this blog is undergoing a large update changing this blog from a demo blog to a full running bigger and better blog.

So far there has been a few drafted articles, an organised schedule for posts throughout the week, a few blog name ideas and a long list of apps that I will review. However the main updates I have been working on have been the layout. I found a few featured post sliders and cool social networking + general blog gadgets for the blog. As well as this I looked into some good blog designs and I am planning to create my own soon.

Earth Day & Air Pollution in London

Today (22nd April) is Earth day. It was created to raise awareness for the surroundings and natural environment. Many millions of people across the world have pledged to be a little more Eco-friendly and see today as a day to improve the environment by reducing waste and toxic chemicals.

However, quite ironically yesterday it was announced that air pollution in London was at it's highest since 2003. It has exceeded the legal EU limit Of poor air quality levels for less than 35 days in the year and there are health threatening air particles that are be bad for people with asthma. The suspects for this poor air quality could be traffic or winds from Europe. Long term exposure to polluted air has caused over 4000 early deaths in London. A green party member said there is need for for 'urgent targeted measures". Despite this the new London buses, commissioned by Boris Johnson, are 40% less polluting.

Blog Poll

This blog will be having some changes in the next few days and it would be great if you took part in the survey to help shape the website.
Some options are:

New title & URL,
New Layout,
Get rid of Read More button,
Nothing

Blog Update - Read More Button

I am testing a new read more button at the bottom of some posts. This is just to make it easier to look through and find older posts and makes the whole website look a little bit neater ;P

However, this update may not stay because it could stop people from looking at the full post.

Today's featured iPhone app - Tetris

Doo do do doo do do doo, do doo doo do doo do , do do do doo do do, do doo doo doo doo do... - Nintendo Tetris theme music lyrics

Electronic Arts have revamped you original arcade Tetris into this classic app. It is ideal to play with as the touch features improve some aspects of the original gameplay in Marathon mode and take it to the next stage with Magic Mode.

Things not to do with your car #1 - Fountains

There are certain things that don't go well together - kittens and sharks, sandals and snow, toothpaste and orange juice - and cars & fountains is another one.

Following the release of this BMW Series 6 Coupe + Convertible advert I have been searching for the funniest and coolest things to do with cars and fountains and reasons why they don't go well together.

Firstly, I should probably explain the crazy picture at the top left. It actually was a piece of art in Rome where a Seat Ibiza looks like it has been pushed up into the air by a jet a of water that was created by Juan Galdeano in 2008.  Also a great example of where not to leave your car parked. Learn from others mistakes ... or artwork.

Secondly, if you decide to park your car in a fountain , do it in a really awesome fountain such as this one in Las Vegas -

I can almost guarantee you would get a little more than a parking ticket fine and a drenched car.

Thirdly, do not act like a crazy fool and try and drive straight down the middle of this fountain in Peru because ..... actually that would be pretty awesome... oh wait this is things NOT to do with your car.... erm...because..you shouldn't do this with your car.

Nike Music Shoe

Is it a shoe? Is it an instrument? Is it a shoe with an instrument in it? Is it magic? Is it real? Is it the future? Is this too many questions? What is it?!

Using technology such as accelerometers and sensors , these Nike shoes are sound controllers that are sent through computer music software and blasted through these speakers. This extremely creative project was created by a musical group called HIFANA in Tokyo.
The concept - A shoe that you plug in and makes a noise when bent and twisted.
The idea -  To make music with an 'orchestra' of shoes.

The live recording of the HIFANA music group playing the shoes in the NikeFreeRun + advert.

Don't believe it? Watch this ...

Unfortunately, these won't be on sale - although they would be pretty cool to wear. The message at the end of the advert reads - The NikeFreeRun+ is absolutely a running shoe. Shoes sold at retail will NOT make music when bent or twisted.

Today's featured iPhone app - EVERNOTE

Evernote is an easy way to make an on-the-go scrapbook, organise your lifestyle and keep notes.

It can be downloaded to iPod touch's, iPhone's and iPad's , most smart phones with an appstore and also your computer. However, you don't have to stick to one device, you can simply press the sync button and access your notebook from any device with Evernote!

The ability to take photo's with your smart phone and sync it ,over the Internet, to your computer is very easy to do. This lets you keep a calender of photo's and you can annotate them with what you were doing when the photo was taken or what is in the photo.

Evernote is free to download from the app store's and http://www.evernote.com/. Also you can go premium and get the full awesomeness!

If I had to rate it.... I would rate it very highly :P 9/10

P.S. I am currently using it to help me collect and keep ideas for my art and design work at school.

Welcome
